Acabei de ler As Viagens de Gulliver de Jonathan Swift e fiquei surpresa com a sua visão amarga e pessimista da humanidade. Sempre pensei que, por ser um livro recomendado para crianças no colégio, ele seria mais leve.  Eu já estava bastante familiarizada com a primeira parte do livro – a viagem de Gulliver a Lilliput – mas fiquei realmente surpresa com as outras três aventuras. Divertido, mas um pouco sombrio demais para o meu gosto.

I just finished reading Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver Travels and was really surprised with his bitter and pessimistic view of humanity. I always thought that, since this is a book recommended for children in school, it would be a lot lighter. I was quite familiarized with the first part of the book – Gulliver’s journey to Lilliput – but was really surprised with the other 3 adventures. Fun, but a little too dark for me.
